Issue with tab icons

Since a recent update, when I have many tabs open, tabs icons are only partially displayed. In previous versions the icon would be resized to fit the size of the tab, but now only about only a third of the icon is shown and rest is cut off.

Attempting to operate in Chrome
If the same problem exists, it is the new kernel and mechanism

So does that mean it can't be changed? Or would it possible to change the behaviour?

I am not having the same issue with other Chromium browsers. I just opened tends of tabs in the current versions of Edge Chromium and Coc Coc and in both cases the icons were displayed correctly.
